we loved our stay at mate! the location is perfect, close to all main attractions. our deluxe double room on the top floor was cozy and peaceful. the staff was always cheerful and helpful, adding to our wonderful experience. we especially appreciated the warm and inviting lobby. absolutely a place to return!

This place was a great match for a passing visit in Madrid with outstanding value. One evening, after a long day exploring, I had no towels, but they arrived in minutes after I called reception. Check if your room has enough storage space.

The room design leans heavily into dark blue tones, which can make the space feel cramped and dim, especially with limited natural light from small windows. It gets tricky for tasks like makeup application in the bathroom due to poor lighting. The absence of a designated smoking area might annoy some, as stepping outside is the only option. While the street view is charming, the nightlife can lead to noticeable noise, impacting sleep quality.

The pool area and rooftop terrace were perfect for relaxing after a day out, soaking up the sun. Had an amazing trip with my friends! We explored the historic neighborhood and caught a show at a nearby theater. The location couldn’t be better, everything was walking distance. Breakfast was a highlight, with a great selection. Super friendly staff too, they helped us with everything we needed.

The only small downside was that the penthouse felt a bit dark at the hallway's end. A little extra lighting would be nice.
